Rachel McDavid, LMFT
I believe that real change is possible — not just managing symptoms, but actually transforming the way you experience yourself and your relationships.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in New York State, and I’ve spent over two decades exploring what it means to heal — as a clinician, a student, a meditator, and a human being genuinely curious about the deeper layers of consciousness and what it means to be alive.
IFS has become increasingly sought after — and for good reason. As a Level 3 trained Internal Family Systems therapist, I bring not just deep clinical experience with the model, but a different quality of presence to the work. My practice is informed by years of meditation and my involvement with the Luminous Awareness Institute, where I have been part of the healing team for several years. I am also an assistant teacher at Relational Awakening, which teaches practices done with others to connect more easily to the Field of Consciousness that exists beyond our ordinary mind.

What this means in practice is that IFS, in my hands, isn’t just a technique — it’s held within a wider, more expanded awareness. For some clients that dimension stays quietly in the background. For others, it becomes central to the work.
Along with IFS, I have trained in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Somatic Experiencing — approaches that bring the body, the heart, and our relational lives into the healing process. I work with individuals and relationships of all configurations — couples, partners, and anyone navigating the complexity of being in connection with others. I also assist and lead workshops in NVC, IFS and other awareness practices.
Whether you’re here because anxiety or relationship patterns have been getting in the way, or because you sense there’s something deeper available to you — I’d love to work with you.
